Funeral services for Mr. Louis Joseph Vedros, Jr., 69, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 1 P.M. on Friday, March 3, 2017, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2017, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. He was born July 14, 1947, in New Orleans, LA, to the late Louis J. Vedros, Sr. and Elaine LeGendre Vedros. On April 24, 1994, he was married to Cindy Anderson Vedros, who survives. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era, and also served and retired as a deputy chief warden for the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's office. While in this position, he especially helped rehabilitate inmates from varying kinds of addictions. After moving to Tennessee, be began a career with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, serving as an investigator for 16 years, until his retirement. He enjoyed the quiet simple life of living in Gainesboro. He enjoyed his many friends, and attended the Stone Church of Christ. He was a skilled blues guitarist, and played in several bands over the years. He was honored to have been inducted into the Westbank Music Hall of Fame in Westwego, LA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the Mother of his Children: Joann Pedalino Vedros. Survivors include his Wife: Cindy Anderson Vedros of Gainesboro, TN; 2 Daughters: Danielle (Kenneth) Belala of New Orleans, LA, and Leah (Joe) Mollohan of Springfield, TN; 6 Grandchildren: Giovanna Songy, Cole Meadows, Stephen Mollohan, Trey Mollohan, Leila Mollohan, and Brayden Mollohan; and 1 Brother: David Vedros of New Orleans, LA.
