Lorene Hammock Thompson

Funeral services for Mrs. Lorene Hammock Thompson, 81, of Cookeville, Tennessee, will be held at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the John Young Cemetery in the Shiloh community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2 P.M. - 9 P. M., and Wednesday from 9 A.M. until time of services. She passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born November 24, 1930, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Herman Hammock and Gladys Hammock. On March 7, 1950, she was married to the late Herman Thompson, who passed away February 11, 2010. She was a housekeeper, and a member of the Liberty Church of Christ. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Son: Jeffrey Thompson; 1 Daughter: Claudine Thompson; 10 Infant Brothers and Sisters; and 2 Sisters: Willene Jackson and Rosalee Redmond. Survivors include 2 Daughters: Maxine (Doug) Stewart and Catherine (Raymond) Hensley, all of Cookeville, TN; 3 Grandchildren: Shirley (Tim) Holloway, Shawn (Nella) Hensley, and Sheena (Sean) Campbell; 6 Great - Grandchildren: Katie (Jose Louis Lopez) Vazquez, Rebekah Hensley, Erin Hensley, Caleb Hensley, Mark Holloway, and Luke Holloway; 3 Brothers: Frank Junior (Charlotte) Hammock of Ohio, Danny (Lynda) Hammock of Georgia, and Jimmy (Wanda) Hammock of Michigan; 3 Sisters: Evelyn (Hullon) Hensley of Rome, GA, Linda (William) Young of Baxter, TN, and Brenda (Ray) Vinson of Alabama; and her Special Niece: Lois Key and her husband, Ray Key and family.
