Funeral services for Mrs. Linda Faye Hix, 72, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday, January 14, 2017, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the John Young Cemetery in the Shiloh community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Friday from 3 P.M. to 8 P.M., and on Saturday from 9 A.M. until time of services. She passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. She was born March 18, 1944, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Joe Pippin and Ora Pippin. She was married to the late James A. Allen. She was a homemaker, and a member of the New Salem Church of Christ. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 3 Brothers: William Joe Pippin, James Luther Pippin, and Donnie Lee Pippin; 2 Sisters: Thelma Dean Jones and an infant sister; and 1 Daughter: Marsha Zell Allen. Survivors include 1 Son: James Brian (Crescent) Allen of Gainesboro, TN; 2 Daughters: Melinda Kay (Donny) Sullivan of Gainesboro, TN, and Carolyn Jean Allen of Gainesboro, TN; 5 Grandchildren: Michael Sullivan, Devin Sullivan, Katie Robin Hollis, James Wyatt Allen, and Kyle Andrew Allen; 1 Great Grandson: Avery; and 1 Brother: Roger Dale Pippin of Gainesboro, TN. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends also survive. Bro. Alan Judd will officiate at the services.
