Funeral services for Mrs. Linda Fay Elrod Bryant, 66, of Cookeville, Tennessee, will be held at 2 P.M. on Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Granville Cemetery in Granville, TN. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10 A.M. until time of services. Mrs. Bryant passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2009, at Standing Stone Care and Rehab Center in Monterey, TN. She was born January 31, 1943, in Putnam County, TN, to the late Casto and Willie Hazel Elrod. On October 2, 1970, she was married to the late James Houston Bryant. She was a private caregiver. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Brother: Dale Elrod. Survivors include 1 Son: Michael D. Bryant of Cookeville, TN; 2 Daughters: Valerie (Dan) Parks and Jamie Bowman, all of Cookeville, TN; 9 Grandchildren: Jennifer Tillman and Billy Singleton of Gainesboro, TN, Kayla Wooley of Georgia, Cody Vaughn and Katlin Parks of Cookeville, TN, Adrian & Scottie Bryant of Cookeville, TN, and Desta Hood & Jase Bowman of Cookeville, TN; 2 Brothers: Jackie Elrod of Monterey, TN, and James Elrod of Nashville, TN; and 5 Great-Grandchildren: Darren Treanne, Breanna Bryant, Sierra Kirby, Bryson Bryant and Colton Wooley. Bro. Jimmy Anderson will officiate at the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Bryant family by contacting the funeral home.
