Funeral services for Mr. Lewis E. Stewart, 77, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 1 P.M. on Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Friday from 3 P.M. - 9 P. M., and Saturday from 10 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born July 11, 1935, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Henry Stewart and Mattie Harris Stewart. On January 22, 1959, he was married to Claudine Stewart, who survives. He was retired from Gainesboro Foodtown, and a member of the Stone Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Son: Jerry Edward Stewart; 4 Brothers: Jonah R. Stewart, James R. Stewart, Donald L. Stewart, and Henry Clay Stewart; and 3 Sisters: Mary Elizabeth Stewart, Nellie Belle Puckett, and Martha Jean Stewart. Survivors include his Wife: Claudine Stewart of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Daughter: Teresia and husband, Larry Gentry of Gainesboro, TN; 3 Grandchildren: Matthew Gentry of Gainesboro, TN, Seth (Kaylan) Stewart of Henderson, TN, and Emily Sue (Brandon) Kerley of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Brother: Kenneth Lee Stewart of Lebanon, TN; 2 Sisters: Anna Marie Stewart of Gainesboro, TN, and Mable Marshall (James Verlon) Brown of Cookeville, TN; and 1 Daughter in Law: Tammy Wilson of Cookeville, TN. Bro. James Bybee, Bro. Seth Stewart, and Bro. Dan Huffines will officiate at the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Stewart family by contacting the funeral home.
