Funeral services for Mrs. Leona Mayberry Allen, 64, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 3 P.M. on Saturday, October 31, 2009, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Byers Cemetery in the Center Grove community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4 P.M. - 9 P.M., and Saturday from 9 A.M. until time of services. Mrs. Allen passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2009, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. She was born March 9, 1945, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Lester Ray and Lena Wheeler Mayberry. On November 3, 1967, she was married to Larry M. Allen, who survives. She was a homemaker and a member of the McCoinsville Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Sister: Peggy Allen. Survivors include her Husband: Larry M. Allen of Gainesboro, TN; 3 Sons: Mark and Angelia Allen, Michael and Meredith Allen, and Bryant Allen, all of Gainesboro, TN; 3 Grandchildren: Hailey, Austin, and Cason Allen; 3 Brothers: Billy Mayberry, Kenneth Mayberry, and Elmer Mayberry, all of Gainesboro, TN; and 1 Sister: Daisy (Terry) Pryor of Gainesboro, TN. Bro. Jimmy Anderson will officiate at the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Allen Family by contacting the funeral home.
