Funeral services for Mr. Laurence F. Cook, 95, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday, February 24, 2011, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Rob Draper Memorial Cemetery in the Stone Community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2 P.M. until 9 P.M., and on Thursday from 9 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Monday, February 21, 2011, at his residence. He was born November 27, 1915, in Santa Fe, TN, to the late Dr. M.M. Cook and Minnie Waddy Cook. On April 4, 1987, he was married to Dianne Lee Cook, who survives. He was a retired assignment supervisor at Twin Lakes Telephone Cooperative. He was a member of the Tannehill Lodge #133, York Rite, and Al Menah Shriner's Temple of Nashville. He was a member of the Gainesboro First United Methodist Church and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Son: Ed Cook; and 2 Brothers: M.M. Cook, Jr. and Spencer Cook. Survivors include his Wife: Dianne Lee Cook of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Son: Laurence F. Cook, Jr. of Knoxville, TN; 1 Granddaughter: Aspen Cook of Knoxville, TN; 1 Nephew: M.M. Cook III of Ashville, N.C.; and 2 Wonderful Companions: Mandy and Macy. Rev. Kathy Bowles will officiate at the services.
