Funeral services for Mr. Laurance Freeman Stafford, 79, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 2 P.M. on Saturday, November 8, 2014, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial with military honors will follow in the Pharris Cemetery in the McCoinsville community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Friday from 1 P.M. - 9 P.M., and Saturday from 11 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2014, at his residence in Gainesboro. He was born January 4, 1935 in Jackson County, TN, to the late Van D. Stafford and Ethel Biggs Stafford. On August 2, 2008 he was married to Cathy F. Keith Stafford, who survives. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean War. He was a dairy farmer and attended Gainesboro First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his First Wife: Mae Jewell Mooneyhan Stafford; Second Wife: Georgia Geraldine Stafford; Parents: Van D. and Ethel Biggs Stafford; 1 Son: Harry Stafford; 2 Brothers: P.J. and Woody Stafford; and 3 Sisters: Jean Ashley, Rhoda Williams, and Lucille Stanley and 3 other siblings; 1 Step-Son: Roger Matthews; and 1 Step- Granddaughter: Tonya Stewart. Survivors include his Wife: Cathy F. Keith Stafford of Gainesboro, TN; 2 Sons: Roger Stafford of Nashville, TN and Laurance Bradford Stafford of Celina, TN; 1 Daughter: Sheila Knight of Brentwood, TN; 6 Step-children; 1 Brother: Ronnie Stafford of Joelton, TN; 20 Grandchildren and 17 Great- grandchildren.
