Larry Jones

Larry Jones was born May 20, 1949, in Jackson County, TN and he passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at his residence in Flynn’s Lick at the age of 75.

Larry was the son of Ben “Hooper” Jones and Anna “Ruth” Brown Jones. He married Cathy Jean Stanczak on June 28, 2009. He worked as a floor installer for years while living in Gainesboro. He was a proud member of the Flynn’s Creek Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by parents; wife: Katherine Frizzell Jones; daughter; Angela Kay; brother: Charles Jones, Kelly Jones, Houston Jones, and infant Jones; sister: Maudine Gore, Pauline Holland, and Mildred Dennis.

Survived by his wife: Cathy Jean Jones of Flynn's Lick, TN: son: David (Sandy) Jones of Gainesboro, TN ; step-son: Shannon Barrett of Indiana; step-daughter: Lisa (Shane) Nocus of Knoxville, TN; brother: Troy (Ruth) Jones of Dudney's Hill and Hubert Jones of Gainesboro, TN; grandchildren: Courtney (Nathan) Birdwell of Bloomington Springs, TN and Megan Jones of Cookeville, TN; 7 step grandchildren; great grandchildren: Mattie Birdwell and Rylee Jones.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024, 4 PM until 8 PM and Saturday, from 10 AM until time of service. Funeral services will be at 2 PM on Saturday, December 14, 2024, in the chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Fox officiating. Burial will follow in John L Clark Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in his honor to the Vanderbilt University Medical ICU 8th Floor in Nashville, TN.
