Funeral services for Mr. Larry Joe Martin, 65, of Portland, TN, will be held at 1 P.M. on Friday, December 23, 2016, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Pharris Cemetery in the McCoinsville community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1 P.M. to 5 P.M., and on Friday from 11 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at his residence. He was born April 6, 1951, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Ted Martin and Rhetta Martin. On August 28, 1965, he was married to the late Rita Martin, who passed away November 21, 2001. He was a brick mason. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Grandson: Austin Martin; 1 Great Granddaughter: Azalea Martin; 1 Brother: Henry Lee Martin; and 1 Sister: Ruby Temple. Survivors include 1 Son: David (Alisha) Martin of Portland, TN; 1 Daughter: Shelia Martin (Robert Cobbs) of Portland, TN; 6 Grandchildren; and 5 Great Grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends also survive. Bro. Eugene Brewington will officiate at the services.
