Lara Lorene Rhoten

Funeral services for Mrs. Lara Lorene Rhoten, 91, of Cookeville, TN, will be held at 2 P.M. on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Pharris Cemetery in the McCoinsville community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Monday from 5 P.M. - 8 P.M., and on Tuesday from noon until time of services. She passed away on Friday, May 12, 2017, at Bethesda Health Care Center in Cookeville, TN. She was born June 19, 1925 in Jackson County, TN, to the late Lewis and Mary Davidson. On August 28, 1945, she was married to the late Herbert Rhoten, who passed away on September 20, 2016. She was a factory worker in the garment industry. She was a member of the Baptist Temple. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 1 Brother: J.B. Davidson and 1 Sister: Lena Davidson Smith. Survivors include: 1 Son: Jimmie (Brenda) Rhoten of Cookeville, TN; 2 Daughters: June Rhoten (Mike) Hicks of Dover, FL, and Janice Rhoten Blackwell of Franklin, TN; 6 Grandchildren: Michael (Amy) Barnes, Sheri Rhoten (Jody) Burton, Lacy Blackwell (William) Crawford, Adam (Lauren) Blackwell, Kim Hicks (Bill) Porter, and Stacey Hicks (David) Chamberlain; and 18 Great Grandchildren. Nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends also survive. Bro. Clarence Jared and Bro. Steve Rhoten will officiate at the services.
