Lanny Bart Kirby

Funeral services for Lanny Bart Kirby, 61, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held on Sunday, November 29, 2020, at 2 P.M. at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Fox - Chaffin Cemetery in the 7 Knobs community. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4 P.M. - 8 P.M., and Sunday from 10 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Monday, November 23, 2020, at his residence. He was born January 6, 1959, in Jackson County, TN, to the late William Kirby and Valmon Lambert Kirby. On September 10, 1984, he was married to Kay Kirby, who survives. He retired from William Bonnell after 39 years, and was a member of the Lakeview Church of Christ. He liked to hunt, and enjoyed UT football and spending time with his boys. Lanny was so proud of his family. He was the best father and father-in-law to Heath (Krista), Torrey, and Ethan (Olivia) and the best grandfather to Amara. He was always supporting them anyway he could, helping them with their cars and homes, and offering advice, generosity, encouragement, comfort, and many, many laughs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Sister: Debbie Moss. Survivors include his Wife: Kay Kirby of Gainesboro, TN; 3 Sons: Heath (Krista Billingsley) Kirby of St. Petersburg, FL, Torrey Kirby of Gainesboro, TN, and Ethan (Olivia) Kirby of Whitleyville, TN; 1 Grandchild: Amara Ellawyn Kirby-Billingsley; 1 Brother: Kenny Kirby of Cookeville, TN; 3 Sisters: Donna Mabery of Gainesboro, TN, Sherry Thurman of Cookeville, TN, and Renee Martin of Gainesboro, TN; and 4 Granddogs: Bash, Finn, Chester, and Sam. Many other relatives and friends also survive. Bro. Don Bryant will officiate at the services. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family requests that visitors please wear face masks.
