Age 84

Reba Katherine Burroughs was born July 27, 1940, in Jackson County, TN and she passed away at her residence surrounded by her family on Friday, February 7, 2025, at the age of 84.


She was the daughter of Bernice Burgess and Gladys Davidson. She later married W.G. Burroughs on November 22, 1958.  She worked as a custodian for years at TTU.  Kathy was a member of the Church of Christ. She was a resident of Nameless community.


Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; husband: W.G. Burroughs who passed away on July 13, 2014; brothers: Barney Burgess and Blair Burgess; and sister: Betty Mayberry.


Survivors include her daughters: Donna Jones of Baxter, TN and Penny (Jerry) Dyer of Cookeville, TN; son: Roger Dale Burroughs of Cookeville, TN; grandchildren: Ryan Hopkins of Gainesboro, TN, Chanse (Kaylia) Hopkins of Cookeville, TN, Dakota Dyer and Dillon Dyer both of Double Springs, Andrew and Liza Burroughs both of Knoxville, TN; and great grandchild: Kambree Hopkins.   Special thanks to the nieces and nephews that helped care for Kathy.  Numerous other relatives and many friends also survive.


Visitation will be held on Monday, February 10, 2025, 2 pm to 8 pm and again on Tuesday starting at 10 am to 2 pm at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at 2 pm in the chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Anderson and Bro. Lakelan Barham officiating. Burial will follow in Curry's Chapel Cemetery.


In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in her honor to Curry's Chapel Cemetery by contacting the funeral home.


Pallbearers will be Ryan Hopkins, Chanse Hopkins, Dakota Dyer, Dillon Dyer, Jerry Dyer, and Edwin Hopkins.


Honorary Pallbearers will be Ronnie Mayberry, Ricky Mayberry, Michael Huff, Tommy Davidson, Dillon Maynard, and Mark Brown.
