Funeral services for Mrs. Katherine Allen, 71, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 2 P.M. on Friday, October 30, 2009, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Dodson Branch Cemetery in the Dodson Branch community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Friday from 9 A.M. until time of services. Mrs. Allen passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2009, at her residence. She was born July 7, 1938, in Jackson County, TN, to the late William Owen and Kate Finn Craighead. She was married to the late George Steven Allen. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Son: Donnie Gene Hamlet; and 1 Sister: Jo Carol Hamlet. Survivors include 3 Sons: James Louis Hamlet, Timothy Wayne Hamlet and George Steve Allen, Jr., all of Gainesboro, TN; 2 Sisters: Peggy Sue Pippin and Donna Louise Davidson, both of Gainesboro, TN; 11 Grandchildren; and 3 Great Grandchildren.
