Graveside services for Mrs. Kate Brown Casteel, 84, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 1 P.M. on Friday, September 14, 2012, at the Fairview Cemetery in the Fairview community of Jackson County, TN. There will be no visitation or services at the funeral home. She passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2012, at the Mabry Health Care Center in Gainesboro, TN. She was born April 18, 1928 in Jackson County, TN, to the late Roy Brown and Mary Elizabeth Stafford Brown. She was married to the late James Casteel, who passed away April 19, 1998. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Harmony Church of Christ. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Son: Robert Roy Casteel; 3 Brothers: William Thomas Brown, Jamison "Jim" Brown, and John Henry Brown; and 3 Sisters: Anna May Brown Shepherd, Lula Jane Brown Roberts, and Alice Mary Brown Ware. Survivors include 2 Daughters: Sandra Kairon Casteel Phann and Peggy Lou Casteel (Garry) Smith, both of Gainesboro, TN; 5 Grandchildren: Jeremy John Smith, Robert Steven Smith, Adam Eric Phann, Amy Jane Carmack, and Mary Elizabeth Casteel Allen; 7 Great-Grandchildren: Joshua Shane Smith, Shawn Michael Smith, Austin Gregory Allen, Phillip Nathaniel Allen, Jordan Frederick Smith, Katelyn Allen, and Heaven Phann.
