Julia Rhoten Stafford

Funeral services for Mrs. Julia Doris Rhoten Stafford, 91, of Cookeville, TN, will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, September 27, 2019, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Rob Draper Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4 P.M. - 8 P.M., and Friday from 9 A.M. until time of services. She passed away on Monday, September 23, 2019, at NHC Health Care in Cookeville, TN. She was born January 4, 1928, in Jackson County, TN, to the late William Carlos Rhoten and Martha Louise Mahaney Rhoten. On July 13, 1946, she was married to John L. Stafford, who survives. She was a homemaker, and also worked in food service. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Garden City, MI. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 4 Brothers: Donald Rhoten, John William Rhoten, Billy Rhoten, and Willis Eugene Rhoten; and 3 Sisters: Daffo Rhoten Gilpatrick, Rosa Lee Heroth, and Otis Lee Rhoten. Survivors include her Husband: John L. Stafford of Cookeville, TN; 2 Sons: Gary Paul (Brenda) Stafford of Monterey, TN, and Ron L. (Deborah) Stafford of Shelby Township, MI; 2 Grandchildren: Nicole Strachan and Jaime (Gui) Lopes; and 1 Great Granddaughter: Aurora Strachan. Bro. Randy Bybee will officiate at the services.
