Funeral services for Mrs. Joyce L. Hix, 77, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 2 P.M. on Monday, December 28, 2009, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3 P.M. - 9 P. M., and Monday from 12 Noon until time of services. Mrs. Hix passed away on Friday, December 25, 2009, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. She was born December 16, 1932, in Jackson County, TN, to the late William Rad and Ethel Mosley Bailey. On December 14, 1947, she was married to the late Earl William Hix, who passed away December 26, 1976. She was a nurse's aide at the former Jackson County Hospital for 15 years. She was a member of the Stone Church of Christ. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Daughter: Jannie Davis; 1 Sister: Grace Rogers; and 2 Brothers: Campbell and Rhuben Bailey. Survivors include 2 Daughters: Debby (Bob) Newell of Johnson City, TN, and Lisa (Jonny) Maynard of the Dodson Branch community of Jackson County, TN; 3 Grandchildren: Cole, Michael, and Carson Maynard; 1 Son-in-Law: Bruce Davis of Livingston, TN; 1 Brother: James (Lora) Bailey of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Sister: Myrtle Ramsey of Romoland, CA; and a Special Niece: Donnie Brown of Canton, OH.
