Johnny "Monk" Hamlet

Funeral services for Mr. Johnny "Monk" Hamlet, 62, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 2 P.M. on Saturday, November 24, 2012, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Pharris Cemetery in the McCoinsville community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2 P.M. - 9 P. M., and on Saturday from 10 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Monday, November 19, 2012, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. He was born January 12, 1950, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Clyde Hamlet and Judy Goolsby Hamlet. On February 17, 1970, he was married to the late Reita K. Hamlet, who passed away September 10, 2012. He was a brick mason, and affiliated with the Church of Christ. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Sister: Barbara Sue Burroughs; and 4 Nephews: Lewis Allen, Terry Mabry, Jeff Burroughs, and Dwayne Burroughs. Survivors include 2 Sisters: Anna Allen and Joyce (Bob) Carroll, all of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Niece: Lisa Hammock of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Nephew: Willie Lee Carroll of Gainesboro, TN; and several great nieces and nephews.
