Johnny Lee Smith was born August 26, 1969 in Dayton, Ohio and he passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro at the age of 52. He was the son of Gary Lee Smith and Judy Susette Carwile Smith. He was a heavy equipment mechanic for Jones Brothers Construction. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, maternal grandparents, Lloyd and Lillie Carwile and paternal grandparents, Bob and Edith Smith. Survivors include his daughter, Jessica Susette Smith of Whitleyville; sister, Jill Buck of Gainesboro; uncles, Jack (Brenda) Carwile and Jerry Carwile both of Gainesboro; niece, Katie and Derrick Dixon of Gainesboro; nephews, Cody and Alicia Buck and Kyle Buck all of Gainesboro; great nephews, Bennett Dixon and Wyatt Buck. Hosts of cousins and friends along with his work family at Jones Brothers Construction also survive. Visitation will be on Saturday, February 12, 2022 from 10 am to 2 pm at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 pm on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2022 with Bro. Lakelan Barham officiating. Burial will follow in John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jones Brothers Construction Employees.
