Johnnie Burks

Funeral services for Mr. Johnnie Burks, 85, of Hilham, Tennessee, will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Wednesday, September 13, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Camp Ground Cemetery in Overton County, TN. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 - 9 P.M. and on Wednesday from 9 A.M. until time of services at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Mr. Burks passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2006, at his residence. He was born August 14, 1921, in Jackson County to the late J. B. Burks & Susie Reels Burks. On January 25, 1946, he was married to Della Evelyn Pritchett, who survives. Mr. Burks was a farmer and a member of the Harris Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Granddaughter: Shawna Marie Skinner; 6 Brothers: Robert, Jess, Author, Monk, Bill, and Mack Burks; and 3 Sisters: Cora Burks, Mary Ann Carmack, and Margaret Burks. Survivors include his wife: Della Evelyn Burks of Hilham, TN; 3 Sons and 2 Daughters-in-Law: Johnny (Aletha) Burks of Hilham, TN, Billy (Janice) Burks of Hilham, TN, and Jack Burks of Hilham, TN; 1 Daughter and Son-in-Law: Sue (Mike) Skinner of Livingston, TN; 4 Grandchildren: Brandon Burks, Thomas (Nikki) Burks, Mike (Becky) Skinner, and Farrah Jo Reagan; and 4 Great-Grandchildren: Justin Skinner, Gracie Skinner, Matthew Burks, and Wyatt Reagan.
