Funeral services for Mr. Johnie E. Stafford, 101, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 2 P.M. on Sunday, March 11, 2012, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4 P.M. - 8 P.M., and on Sunday from 1 P.M. until time of services. He passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2012, at Bethany Health and Rehab Center in Nashville, TN. He was born March 18, 1910, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Robert Lee Stafford and Janie Smith Stafford. On June 1, 1930, he was married to the late Martha Nannie Stafford, who passed away December 28, 2004. He was a farmer, and a member of the Sugar Creek Church of Christ. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Infant Daughter: Judy Ann Stafford; 2 Sons-in- Law: Robert Hall and Jerry Langley; 3 Sisters: Bessie Smith, Nannie Pharris, and Bertha Scantland; and 1 Brother: Carl Lawson. Survivors include 2 Sons: Mayford (Helen) Stafford of Nashville, TN, and James Stafford of Cookeville, TN; 3 Daughters: Katherine Hall of Cookeville, TN, Norma (Robert) Compton of Nashville, TN, and Marie Langley of Nashville, TN; and 8 Grandchildren: Danny Hall, Phillip Hall, Donna Beard, Marty Stafford, Patti Burchett, Judy Phillips, Tim Compton, and Karen Baskin. 13 Great Grandchildren and 8 Great Great Grandchildren also survive.
