Funeral services for Mr. John W. "Monty" Montgomery, 71, of the Shiloh Community of Jackson County, Tennessee, will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Tuesday, November 16, at Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro. Burial will follow in the John Young Cemetery in the Shiloh Community of Jackson Co. The family will receive friends Monday from 4 - 8 P.M., and Tuesday from 12:30 P.M. until time of services. Mr. Montgomery passed away on Friday, November 12, 2004, at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. He was born February 15, 1933, in Farmington, Missouri, to the late Forest A. Montgomery and Ruth Mackley Montgomery Coffey. Mr. Montgomery was a retired truck driver for the PB&S Chemical Company. On August 1, 1973, he was married to Janice "Jan" Montgomery, who survives. He was a member of the Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church in Farmington, MO, and served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Montgomery was preceded in death by 2 Sons: John E. Montgomery and Matthew Montgomery. His family includes his wife: Janice "Jan" Montgomery of the Shiloh Community of Jackson County, TN; 1 Son: Mark R. Montgomery of Cookeville, TN; 5 Daughters: Kathy (Ray) Wilson and Laura Ray both of Cookeville, TN, Mili (Kim) Parks of Midvale, UT, Deborah Rathmann of Henderson, KY, and Dilissa (Dave) Milburn of Mayfield, KY; 1 Brother: Charley Montgomery of Farmington, MO; 2 Sisters: Alyce Martin of Imperial, MO and Sally Wamsley of Branson, MO; 9 Grandchildren and 5 Great-Grandchildren also survive. Rev. Mark Whicker will officiate at the services. Active Pallbearers: Ray Wilson, Gary Bowman, Daniel Bowman, Darrell Lee, Roger Ward, and Mike Allen. Honorary pallbearer: Jarvis Matheney Memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army, Putnam County Animal Shelter, or the charity of one's choice.
