Funeral services for Mr. John L. Painter, 65, of Whitleyville, TN, will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, November 18, 2016, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Rob Draper Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 3 P.M. to 8 P.M., and on Friday from 9 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at his residence. He was born April 26, 1951, in Jackson County, TN, to Taylor Painter and the late Jewell Painter. On February 16, 1974, he was married to Mazelle Painter, who survives. He worked as a commercial plumber for Carwile. He loved hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. He was preceded in death by his Mother: Jewell Painter. Survivors include his Wife: Mazelle Painter of Whitleyville, TN; 2 Sons: Johnny (Allison) Painter of Cookeville, TN, and Jason (Raeann) Painter of Cookeville, TN; 3 Grandchildren: Cade Painter, Nate Painter, and Aynsley Painter; and his Father: Taylor Painter of Whitleyville, TN. Other relatives and friends also survive. Bro. Randy Bybee will officiate at the service. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society by contacting the funeral home.
