John Homer Apple

Funeral services for Mr. John Homer Apple, 90, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 3 P.M. on Saturday, March 31, 2007, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Granville Cemetery in Granville, TN. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4 - 8 P.M., and on Saturday from 1 P.M. until time of services. Mr. Apple passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2007, at Masters Health Care Center in Algood, TN. He was born July 11, 1916, in Jackson County, Tennessee, to the late Robert Nelson Apple and Sarah Elizabeth Apple. On August 13, 1936, he was married to Lona Daris Ragland Apple, who survives. He was a farmer and a member of the Flynns Lick Methodist Church. He was a past President and Secretary of the Upper Cumberland Beef Breeders Association. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Granddaughter: Jane Apple Barlow; 6 Brothers: Bedford, Walter, Tom, Marlin, Donald, and Clarence Apple; and 3 Sisters: Eliza Ragland, Ina Vinson, and Annie Harris. Survivors include his wife: Lona Daris Ragland Apple of Gainesboro, TN; 3 Sons and 2 Daughters-in-Law: Ted Apple of Nashville, TN, Jimmie & Vickey Apple of Gainesboro, TN, and Ray & Jeri Apple of Villa Rica, GA; 2 Daughters and 1 Son-in- Law: Peggy & Leroy Mackie of Cookeville, TN, and Patty Apple Barlow of Lebanon, TN; 1 Brother: Charlie Apple of Baxter, TN; 13 Grandchildren: Melinda Anderson, Jennifer Kossman, Emily Brown, Susanne Lee, Tim Barlow, Lucinda Barlow, Terry Apple, Chris Apple, Melanie Burd, John Apple, Mark Apple, Stephanie Apple, and Jeffrey Apple; and 14 Great- Grandchildren.
