Masonic services for Mr. Joe R. Hix, 87, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 2 P.M. on Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. A memorial service will immediately follow the Masonic service. The family has chosen cremation. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2015, at his residence. He was born September 14, 1927, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Charlie Reeves Hix and Mary Nell Dudney Hix. He was a hairdresser. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 Brothers: Eugene Hix and Charles Hix. Survivors include 3 Daughters: Mary Jo Greenwood of St. Louis, MO, Dianne (Ray) Watford of Atlanta, GA, and Debbie Leahy of St. Louis, MO; 4 Grandchildren: Matthew (Brooke) Greenwood, John Longhouser, II, Benjamin (Sherri) Girard, and Katlyn Watford; 4 Great Grandchildren: John Longhouser, III, Jackson Girard, Colton Girard, and Easton Greenwood; and 3 Sisters: Elizabeth Hooton of Nashville, TN, Inez Bremer of Cookeville, TN, and Ann Thompson of Gainesboro, TN. Bro. Jimmy Anderson will officiate at the services. Memorial donations may be made to the Charlie Norton Christmas Fund, Pharris Cemetery, or the donor's favorite charity by contacting the funeral home.
