Joe M. Jones

Mr. Joe M. Jones of the Flynns Lick Community was born November 25, 1936 in Jackson County and he passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center at the age of 83. He was the son of George E. Jones and Clara Dovie Meadows Jones. He was a factory worker and a general laborer in various fields. He was a member of the Flynns Lick Church of Christ. Mr. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Phyllis Jones who passed away on October 1, 2007, brother, James Edwin Jones. Survivors include sister, Clara Sandra Hunter of Cookeville, step-daughters, Cathy Brown of Gainesboro and Susan J. Jacene of Cookeville; step-son, Wyn Lee Weinberg of Bronson, MI. Other relatives and many friends also survive. Visitation will be on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2020 5-8 pm at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Graveside services and internment will be held on Monday, Nov. 16, 2020 at 11 am at New Salem Cemetery. Bro. Garry Anderson will officiate the service. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 11 am. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Pacesetters, Inc. by contacting the funeral home. Family request that all attending the visitation and service please wear a mask due to Covid 19.
