Funeral services for Mr. Joe "Red Joe" Heady, 76, of Baxter, TN, will be held at 1 P.M. on Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Monday from 4 P.M. - 9 P.M., and on Tuesday from 12 Noon until time of services. He passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2015, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. He was born January 2, 1939, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Edd Heady and Rose Lee Heady. He was a heavy equipment operator, and of the Church of Christ faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Son: Joe David Heady; 1 Grandson: Robert Heady; 1 Brother: Bobby Clay Heady; and 1 Sister: Mary Prill. Survivors include 3 Daughters: Melinda (Floyd) Simpson of Baxter, TN, Julia Wheeler of Cookeville, TN, and Angela (Steven) Vick of Cookeville, TN; 7 Grandchildren: Tim Simpson, Chris Simpson, Brandi Simpson, Mandi Palk, Brandon Wheeler, Joshua Vick, and Hunter Vick; 10 Great Grandchildren: Mackenzie Simpson, Desiree Nix, Daniel Nix, Kendall Simpson, Ethan Palk, Trevor Palk, Adam Simpson, Luke Simpson, Hailey Wheeler, and Hannah Morgan; 4 Brothers: Ralph McCoy (Bobbie) Heady of Cookeville, TN, Roland (Joann) Heady of Cookeville, TN, Larry (Mary) Heady of Cookeville, TN, and Danny Heady of Cookeville, TN; and 4 Sisters: Judy Heady, Pam Humphery, and Brenda (Donnie) Dill, all of Gainesboro, TN, and Gayle (Eddie) Pharris of Cookeville, TN.
