Funeral services for Mr. Joe Bybee, 69, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 2 P.M. on Wednesday, November 17, at the Gainesboro Church of Christ in Gainesboro. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson Co. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 3 - 9 P.M., on Tuesday from 3 - 9 P.M., and on Wednesday from noon until time of services. Mr. Bybee passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2004, at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. He was born June 11, 1935, in Jackson County, TN, to Kizziah Kirkpatrick Bybee and the late Walter B. Bybee. On July 2, 1955, he was married to Wanda Davenport Bybee, who survives. Mr. Bybee was a member of the Gainesboro Church of Christ, where he served as a deacon. He was a licensed plumber and electrician, and was a former Jackson County Commissioner for the First District. Mr. Bybee was preceded in death by his father: Walter B. Bybee; 2 Brothers: Homer Bybee and Odell Bybee; and 2 Sisters: Modean Lawson and Frances Vanhooser. His family includes his wife: Wanda Davenport Bybee of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Son and Daughter-in-Law: Kyle and Alesia Bybee of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Daughter: Melinda Bybee of Gainesboro, TN; 2 Grandchildren: Elyse Bybee and Cody Bybee of Gainesboro, TN; his mother: Kizziah Bybee of Old Hickory, TN; 2 Brothers and Sisters-in-Law: Jim and Ann Bybee of Old Hickory, TN, John and Verone Bybee of Gainesboro, TN; and 3 Sisters and 1 Brother-in-Law: Martha Kirkpatrick, Lucy and Harold Long, and Ruth Bybee, all of Old Hickory, TN. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Bro. Dan Huffines and Bro. Johnny Fox will officiate at the services.
