Funeral services for Mr. Jodie "Bud" Hawkins, 83, of Cookeville, Tennessee, will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, October 25, 2014, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial with full military honors will follow at the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Friday from 1 P.M. - 9 P.M., and Saturday from 9 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. He was born July 8, 1931, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Herbert Hawkins and Martha Sue Hix Hawkins. On July 14, 1954, he was married to Athylene Moore Hawkins, who survives. He was a water department employee with the City of Cookeville, served in the U.S. Army during the Korean war, and was a member of the Holladay Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 9 Brothers: Elmer, Ridley, Hampton, Johnny, Charlie, Arville, Eugene, Bill, and Buster Hawkins; and 2 Sisters: Molene Head and Georgia Hollows. Survivors include his Wife: Athylene Moore Hawkins of Cookeville, TN; 1 Son: David (Sherry) Hawkins of Cookeville, TN; 1 Daughter: Rita (Melvin) Dickens of Cookeville, TN; 6 Grandchildren: Travis Dickens, Dewayne (Marissa) Hawkins, Alicia (Chris) White, Tiffany (R.J.) Wilson, Kaycie Thompson, and Daniel Thompson and 3 Great-Grandchildren: Jacob Wilson, Reana White, and Joseph White. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. Bro. Johnny Fox and Bro. Jimmy Anderson will officiate at the services.
