Joann Garrison

Joann Garrison was born December 26, 1956 in Jackson County, TN and she passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center at the age of 63. She was the daughter of Marion Thomas Hopkins and Betty Jean Welch Hopkins. She was a homemaker and a member of the Zion Church of Christ. She married Danny Garrison on September 20, 1974 and recently celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary. Mrs. Joann was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Larry Hopkins, Sr. Survivors include her husband, Danny Garrison of Cookeville; son, Daniel James Thomas (Christie) Garrison of Cookeville; daughter, Angela Danielle (Alan) Byers of Baxter; brother, Robert Hopkins of Cookeville; sister, Gail Meadows of Cookeville; grandchildren, Kaylin Byers, Jesse Garrison, Clay Byers, Jake Garrison, Hannah Beth Byers and Layla Garrison. Other relatives and many friends also survive. Visitation will be on Monday, September 28, 2020 from 4 to 8 pm and Tuesday, 10 am to 2 pm. Funeral services will be 2 PM on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 in the Chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Dale Crossman, Bro. John Anderson, and Bro. Ted Gaw officiating. Burial will follow in Morgan Pippin Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Morgan Pippin Cemetery by contacting the funeral home.
