Funeral services for Jimmy Greenwood, 76, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2021, at 2 P.M. at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Lynn Cemetery in the Burristown community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born June 27, 1944, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Oplis Greenwood and Dimple Olene Barlow Greenwood. He was married to Hazel Smith Greenwood, who survives. He worked for the Nashville Fire Department for 32 years, and was a member of the Tennessee Association of Wood Turners. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 Brothers: Hugh Greenwood and Bobby Joe Greenwood. Survivors include his Wife: Hazel Smith Greenwood of Cookeville, TN; 1 Son: Ray (Terri) Greenwood of Lebanon, TN; 1 Daughter: Tina (Frank) Daniels of Old Hickory, TN; 3 Brothers: Mack Greenwood of Gainesboro, TN, Charles Greenwood of Lebanon, TN, and George Greenwood of Clarksville, TN; 1 Sister: Mary Heady of Cookeville, TN; Grandchildren: Charlie Daniels, Leevie (Nick) Hood, Ivie Greenwood, and Landon Greenwood; and Great Grandchildren: Oakley Hood and Beckham Hood. Bro. Sterl Paramore will officiate at the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lynn Cemetery by contacting the funeral home.
