Jimmy Bowles

Funeral services for Mr. Jimmy Bowles, 62, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, January 3, at the Gainesboro First United Methodist Church. The family has chosen cremation. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 - 9 P.M. at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. The body will lie in state at the church on Wednesday from 10 A.M. until time of services. Mr. Bowles passed away on Friday, December 29, 2006, at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. He was born August 11, 1944, in Memphis, TN, to the late James Corum Bowles and Janey Denton Bowles. On September 21, 1968, he was married to Kathryn Jane Shropshire Bowles, who survives. Mr. Bowles was a retired meat cutter. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era. Survivors include his wife: Kathryn Jane Shropshire Bowles of Gainesboro, TN; 5 Daughters: Beth (Wayne) Hall of Gallatin, TN; Jennifer (Steve) Gardner of San Bernardino, CA; JoJo (Clint) Young of Gainesboro, TN; Christy Brewington of Granville, TN; and Mimi Toomey of Monticello, Utah; and 10 Grandchildren: Scott Toomey, Chantelle Toomey, Justin Hall, Haley Link, Jennifer Toomey, Caleb Hall, Kit Young, Courtney Gardner, Brandon Boop, and Corey Gardner. Rev. Wm. Russell Cain will officiate at the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Gainesboro First United Methodist Church or to Tennessee Organ Donor Services.
