Funeral services for Jim Stewart 59, of Cookeville, TN, will be held at 1 P.M. on Thursday, April 21, 2016, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Young Cemetery in the Center Grove community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5 P.M. to 9 P.M., and on Thursday from 10 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. He was born September 10, 1956, in Jackson County, TN, to Shirley Howell and the late Bobby Stewart. He worked as a mechanic in an auto and body shop and also worked in construction. He was a member of the church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his Father: Bobby Stewart; Maternal Grandparents: Lex and Willie Birdwell; Paternal Grandparents: Claude and Grace Stewart; and Close Friend: Jackie Putty. Survivors include 2 Sons: Robert Miles Stewart of Branson, MO and Ethan Lee Stewart of Myrtle Beach, SC; 1 Step-Son: Joe Mabrey of Cookeville, TN; Mother and Father: Shirley and W.C. Howell of Cookeville, TN; Step-Grandmother: Dorothy Lee Reynolds of Erin, TN; 2 Half-Brothers: Steven Curtis Howell of Springfield, TN and Timothy William Howell of Hendersonville, TN; and the Mother of His Children: June Stewart of Cookeville, TN. Bro. Johnny Fox will officiate at the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Stewart family by contacting the funeral home.
