Jewell Spivey

Jewell Spivey was born February 24, 1930, in Jackson County, TN and she passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at her residence in Whitleyville, TN, at the age of 93.

She was the daughter of the late Nichols Davis and Bessie Novella Long Davis. She was married to the late Arnold Joe Spivey, who passed away November 23, 2017. She was a retired factory worker, and a member of the Whitleyville Church of Christ.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her Brothers: Clyde Davis, Stanton Davis, Robert Davis, Otis Davis, and Walter Davis.

Survivors include her Son: Steve (Lora Lee) Spivey of Whitleyville, TN; Daughters: Lea Ann (Bruce) Payne of Whitleyville, TN, and Wanda (Jimmy) Maynord of Cookeville, TN; Grandchildren: Jason Hickok, Ben (Andrea) Hickok, April Hickok, Nolan (Keisha) Spivey, and Morgan (Tyler) Jackson; Great Grandchildren: Myles Hickok, Bennett Hickok, and Willow Spivey; Special Caregiver and Niece: Kay Kirby; and Special Caregiver: Peggy Wilson. Special thanks to Amedisys Home Health, Dr. Marcy Abel, Kayla, and Dr. Alex Case.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at 3 P.M. at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home, with Bro. Jack Honeycutt, Ben Hickok, and Jason Hickok officiating. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in Gainesboro, TN. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 P.M. – 8 P.M., and Thursday from 1 P.M. until time of services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mustard Seed Ranch or Jackson Smith County Youth Camp by contacting the funeral home.
