Jewel Flatt Swann

Funeral services for Mrs. Jewel Flatt Swann, 84, of Pleasant Shade, Tennessee, will be held at 2 P.M. on Monday, April 26, 2010, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Draper Cemetery in the Wartrace community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4 P.M. - 8 P. M., and Monday from 1 P.M. until time of services. She passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2010, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. She was born November 24, 1925, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Artie and Georgia Flatt. She was a school teacher for 47 years. She taught at the Wartrace, Beech Grove, and Gladdice schools, and finally at the Fox Middle School until her retirement. She was a member of the Wartrace United Methodist Church, Jackson County Homemakers Club, and the Retired Teachers Association of Jackson County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Brother-in-Law: Donald Palk. Survivors include 1 Son: Don (Roberta) Swann of Mobile, AL; 3 Daughters: Mitzi (Ron) Delker of Chattanooga, TN; Betsy (David) White of Tullahoma, TN; and Lisa Warren of Guadalajara, Mexico; 1 Sister: Donna Palk of Cookeville, TN; 7 Grandchildren: Brooke (Dylan) Radovich, Blair Henson, Blayne Delker, Lindsey White, Will and Gage Swann, and Chelsea Warren; and 3 Great-Grandchildren: Maegen, Harper, and Marley. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive. Bro. Jeff Burton will officiate at the services. Memorial donations may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
