Jessie Lee Strong

Funeral services for Mrs. Jessie Lee Strong, 80, of Livingston, Tennessee, will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday, March 7, 2009, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Lynn Cemetery in the Burristown community of Jackson County. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5 P.M. - 9 P.M., and Saturday from 9 A.M until time of services. Mrs. Strong passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at Livingston Regional Hospital in Livingston, TN. She was born May 10, 1928, in Clay County, TN, to the late Docia Mae Goad. On December 22, 1945, she was married to the late Edward Strong, who passed away October 19, 1997. She was a retired factory worker, and a member of the Church of Christ. In addition to her husband and mother, she was preceded in death by 1 Son: James Michael Strong; and 2 Brothers: Vester and Carlos Goad. Survivors include 3 Daughters: Linda Mort of Cookeville, TN, Patty (Charles) Thompson of Livingston, TN, and Carol (James) Ledford of Livingston, TN; 7 Grandchildren: Jeff Scantland, Tracey McCullah, Kelly Thompson, Kim Matthews, Jacob Stephens, Michael Ledford, and Jamie Ledford; 3 Great- Grandchildren: Briley Scantland, Andrew Scantland, and Robyn McCullah; and 2 Sisters: Anna Mae (Don) McWaters of Cookeville, TN, and Ethel (Carl) Masters of Livingston, TN.
