Jerry "Byrd" Smith

Mr. Jerry Harold "Byrd" Smith, 60, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, November 11, 2010, at his residence. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 13 at 12 noon. Burial will follow in the New Hope Cemetery in the New Hope community of Jackson County. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 4 P.M. until 9 P.M. and on Saturday from 9 A.M. to time of the service. He was born July 18, 1950, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Clifton B. and Jewel Poston Smith. He was a construction worker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 Brothers: James Ray Smith, Roy Michael Smith and Billy Glynn Smith; and 1 Grandson: Matthew Peek. Survivors include 2 Daughters: Tammy and husband Mike Wallace of Cookeville, TN; and Tonya and husband Victor Hill of Livingston, TN; 3 Grandchildren: Brittany Peek, Hailey Smith, and Lane Hill; 1 Brother: Gary Smith of Hilham, TN; and 2 Sisters: Eleda Meadows and Patty Boles both of Livingston, TN. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive. Bro. Mike Ayers will officiate at the services.
