Funeral services for Mr. Jere Nelson Apple, 74, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 1 P.M. on Saturday, August 19, 2017, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery in the Flynn's Lick community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 9 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. He was born April 30, 1943 in Jackson County, TN, to the late Donald and Lena Apple. On July 26, 2004, he was married to Sherry Apple, who survives. He was a truck driver. He loved gardening and could grow anything. He was affiliated with the Dudney's Hill Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Daughter: Felicia Renea Apple Carroll. Survivors include His Wife: Sherry Apple of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Son: Donnie Apple of Nashville, TN; 7 Grandchildren: Ryan Carroll, William "Bill" Carroll, Michaela Apple, Mychalea Cooper, Ava Willoughby, James Martin, and Hannah Martin, and 1 Sister: Helen Jackson of Cookeville, TN; and 1 Special Friend who was like a brother: Dick Martin. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to help with funeral expenses by contacting the funeral home. Bro. Jimmy Anderson will officiate at the service.
