Funeral services for Mr. J.D. Mahaney, 60, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 2 P.M. on Monday, April 11, 2011, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Mahaney Cemetery in Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 P.M. until 8 P.M., and on Monday from 9 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2011, at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. He was born April 30, 1950, in Jackson County, TN, to Eva Jones Mahaney and the late John D. Mahaney. He was a construction worker, and was affiliated with the New Salem Church of Christ. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by 1 Sister: Shirley Judkins. Survivors include Carolyn Short of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Daughter: Michelle (Sam) Mainord of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Step - daughter: Crystal (Jim) Boles of Celina, TN; 5 Grandchildren: Shelby and Grant Mainord; Josh Rector; Justin and Jamie Boles, and his Mother: Eva Jones Mahaney of Gainesboro, TN. Several aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends also survive. Bro. Sam Mainord and Bro. Jimmy Anderson will officiate at the services.
