Janie Anderson Smith

Funeral services for Mrs. Janie M. Anderson Smith, 73, of Franklin, Tennessee, and formerly of Jackson County, will be held at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, July 12, at Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Smith's Chapel Cemetery in Cookeville, TN. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5 P.M. - 8 P.M., and on Wednesday from 9 A.M. until time of services. Mrs. Smith passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2006, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN. She was born October 27, 1932, in Jackson County to the late Loyd W. Anderson & Maranda Bethel Frizzell Anderson. On December 5, 1952, she was married to the late Donald Ralph Smith, who passed away on January 1, 1991. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker. She was a member of the Franklin Church of Christ. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Brother: Loyd Preston Anderson. Survivors include 1 Son and Daughter-in-Law: Alan Ralph & Shirley Smith of Lapeer, MI; 1 Daughter: Gaye Smith of Franklin, TN; 5 Grandchildren: Matthew Walton, Brandon Smith, Kyle Smith, Amanda Rose Smith, and D.J. Smith; 1 Great-Grandchild: Dylan Walton; 1 Brother and Sister-in- Law: Frank & Ann Anderson of Gainesboro, TN; and 2 Sisters and Brothers-in-Law: Jennie Sue & H.J. Stout and Frances & Oliver Hall, all of Gainesboro, TN. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Bro. Paul Roberts will officiate at the services. Pallbearers: Matthew Walton, Brandon Smith, Kyle Smith, Mickey Smith, Tyler Smith, Dan Smith, John Hawkins, and James Hawkins.
