Funeral services for Jammie Stafford Hammons, 74, of the Morrison Creek community of Jackson County, Tennessee, will be held at 2 P.M. on Thursday, April 12, 2012, at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Hensley Cemetery in the Freewill community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 9 A.M. until time of services. She passed away on Monday, April 9, 2012, at Cumberland River Hospital in Celina, TN. She was born September 21, 1937, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Herbie Stafford and Lillie Wheeler Stafford. She was a factory worker, and a member of the Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 3 Sisters: Jettie Garrison, Mary Smith, and Lucille Wilson; and 1 Brother: Vester Stafford. Survivors include 1 Son: Melvin (Debra) Hammons of the Morrison Creek community of Jackson County, TN; 1 Grandchild: James Weeks; and 2 Brothers: Johnny Stafford and David Stafford, both of the Morrison Creek community of Jackson County, TN. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Bro. Alan Judd will officiate at the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hammons family by contacting the funeral home.
