Funeral services for Mrs. Jamie Chaffin Hix, 72, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 1 P.M. on Sunday, February 1, 2009, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Rob Draper Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12 Noon - 8 P.M., and Sunday from 10 A.M until time of services. Mrs. Hix passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2009, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. She was born October 10, 1936, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Norman and Hattie Harris Chaffin. On June 5, 1964, she was married to Charles Law Hix, who survives. She was a secretary for Jackson County Farm Bureau for 27 years, and was a member of the Richmond Chapel Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Son: James Richard Hix; 1 Daughter: Evelyn Carol Mayberry; 1 Brother-in-Law: Edd Roy Craighead; and 1 Sister-in-Law: Bettye Chaffin. Survivors include her Husband: Charles Law Hix of Gainesboro, TN; 2 Grandchildren: Wesley Austin Mayberry of Mt. Juliet, TN, and Savanna Shea Mayberry of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Step-Grandchild: Ashlee Carol Mayberry of Sparta, TN; 1 Son-in-Law: Donnie Mayberry of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Brother: Perry Chaffin of Gainesboro, TN; 4 Sisters: Mary (Billie) Myers, and Velma Jo (Gary) Norton, all of Gainesboro, TN, Matilda Craighead of Cookeville, TN, and Geraldine (Jon) Collins of Portland, TN; 2 Aunts: Velma Bowman and Lella Jean (Harlin) Haney; and 1 Uncle: James (Sally) Harris.
