Funeral services for Mr. James W. Murray, 76, of Baxter, Tennessee, will be held at 2 P.M. on Friday, March 8, 2013, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the John Young Cemetery in the Shiloh community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born October 18, 1936, in Jackson County, TN, to the late David Dudley Murray and Cora Bell Haney Murray. On December 21, 1958, he was married to the late Lois Cronk Murray. He was a retired custodian at Baxter Elementary. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Son: James Richard "Jimmy" Murray; and 1 Grandson: Christopher Murray. Survivors include 3 Daughters: Vickie Mayberry and husband, Johnny, of Buffalo Valley, TN, Patricia Stafford and husband, Randal, of Gainesboro, TN, and Lisa Branson and husband, David (Tony), of Cookeville, TN; 1 Sister: Elowese Sherfield of Cookeville, TN; 9 Grandchildren; 2 Great Grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Bro. Alan Judd will officiate at the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Murray family by contacting the funeral home.
