James T. Stewart

Funeral services for Mr. James T. Stewart, 68, of Cookeville, Tennessee, will be held at 3 P.M. on Sunday, May 17, 2009, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Dodson Branch Cemetery in the Dodson Branch community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4 P.M. - 9 P.M., and Sunday from 1 P.M. until time of services. Mr. Stewart passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2009, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN. He was born January 23, 1941, in Cookeville, TN, to the late Ted and Notie Stewart. On January 16, 1976, he was married to Sandra Jeanette Stewart, who survives. He was a court officer for the Jackson County Sheriff's Department. He was a former member of the Jackson County Commission, and a school bus driver for the Jackson County School System. He was a farmer and a member of the Cummins Mill Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Brother: Ridley Stewart. Survivors include his Wife: Sandra Jeanette Stewart of Cookeville, TN; 1 Son: Ricky James (Gail) Stewart of Smithville, TN; 4 Daughters and 2 Sons-in-Law: Brenda (Gordon) Wells of Syracuse, NY, Sherry (Keith) Elliott of Sparta, TN, Patricia Hunter and Lisa Stewart, both of Cookeville, TN; 2 Brothers: David Eugene Stewart of Cookeville, TN, and Floyd (Karen) Stewart of St. Louis, MO; 2 Sisters: Wanda (Bob) Roberts of St. Louis, MO, and Connie (Harvey) Rockwell of Cookeville, TN; and 2 Very Special Friends: Wayne Mahaney and David Pigg. 12 Grandchildren and 6 Great-Grandchildren also survive. Bro. Clayton Lee and Bro. Billy Haney will officiate at the services.
