James R. Emerton

Funeral services for James R. Emerton, 75, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 1 P.M. on Sunday, December 15, 2019, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Rob Draper Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4 P.M. - 8 P.M., and Sunday from 11 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2019, at his residence. He was born May 16, 1944, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Gurstle Emerton and Zelma Emerton. On July 27, 2006, he was married to Marsha Meadows Emerton, who survives. He was a retired TDOT supervisor, and a member of the Flynns Creek Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Brother: Roger Emerton; and 1 Sister: Ruth Smith. Survivors include his Wife: Marsha Meadows Emerton of Gainesboro, TN; 2 Sons: Tim (Susan) Emerton of Whitleyville, TN, and Jason (Kelly) Emerton of Gainesboro, TN; 3 Daughters: Kim (Mike) Lyon of Litchfield Park, AZ, Jessica Emerton of Gainesboro, TN, and Ruby Randolph of Gainesboro, TN; 2 Grandchildren: Zach (Kayla) Emerton of Lafayette, TN, and Peyton Emerton of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Great Grandchild: Jaxon Emerton; 1 Brother: John Emerton of Cookeville, TN; 2 Sisters: Sally Stafford and Elizabeth Long, both of Smyrna, TN; and 1 Sister in Law: Pam (Danny) Hammons of Celina, TN.
