Mr. James M. Jones, Sr. 70, of Cookeville, TN, passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at the Signature Health Care Center in Algood, TN. The family has chosen cremation. There will be no visitation or services at the funeral home. He was born March 1, 1947, in Putnam County, TN, to the late Manuel and Lassie Jones. On September 13, 1967, he was married to the late Betty Ann Jones, who passed away on July 8, 2007. He was a building contractor in residential construction. He was preceded in death by Parents: Manuel and Lassie Jones; Wife: Betty Ann Jones; 4 Brothers: Johnny, Charlie, Robert, and Ben A. Jones; and 4 Sisters: Essie Dee Davis, Jessie Davis, Maudie Jackson, and Barbara Tripp. Survivors include 1 Son: James M. Jones Jr. of Cookeville, TN; 1 Daughter: Jamie (Steve) Bennett of Sparta, TN; 1 Grandson: Steven Bennett of Algood, TN; 1 Brother: Ike Jones of Cookeville, TN; and 2 Sisters: Fannie Ellis of Savannah Georgia and Geraldine Young of Cookeville, TN.
