James K. Long,

James K. Long, Sr., 70, born January 13, 1937, departed this life on July 8, 2007, after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Helen Sue (Lee); Daughters: Brenda (John) Taylor of Springfield, OH, and Cheryl Long (Lance Lassiter) of McEwen, TN; Son: James K. Long, Jr. of the Wartrace community. Jim devoted the last seven years of his life taking care of his Daddy; Two Beloved Grandchildren: Nathan Taylor of Enon, OH, and Natalie Taylor of Springfield, OH; and Brothers: Jack (Wanda) Long of Gainesboro, TN, and Wayne (Judy) Long of New Middleton, TN. He will be sadly missed by numerous family members and friends. He was preceded in death by a Daughter: Denise Long; his Parents: Chester and Thelma Long; and Sister: Margaret Leslie. James retired from the United Methodist Publishing House in Nashville and moved back to Jackson County in 1990. He retired from Aeroquip / Eaton in 1999. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 A.M. with Bro. Kenneth Clayton and Bro. Gerald Rich officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11 A.M. - 9 P.M., and Wednesday from 10 A.M. until time of services. Arrangements are being handled by Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home of Gainesboro.
