James "Jim" Nowak

Funeral services for Mr. James "Jim" Nowak, 66, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 2 P.M. on Wednesday, August 7, 2013, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Byers Cemetery in the Center Grove community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5 P.M. - 8 P. M., and Wednesday from 10 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2013, at his residence. He was born May 5, 1947, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Adam Nowak and Carmella Nowak. He was married to Brenda Dyer Nowak. He was retired from the military and General Motors. He was of the Catholic faith, and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era, and in the reserves in Iraq. Survivors include his Wife: Brenda Dyer Nowak of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Daughter: Carmella Lorraine Nowak of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Brother: Joseph (Shannon) Nowak of Maryland; and 4 Sisters: Mary Ann (Larry) Schwarzmann of New Jersey, Victoria Lafalse of Florida, Angelia (Scott) Engle of Maryland, and Joan (Rick) Sharesky of Maryland.
