Funeral services for Mr. James Herman Goolsby, 86, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in the Pleasant Hill community of Jackson County. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5 P.M. - 9 P. M., and Wednesday from 9 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Monday, January 25, 2010, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. He was born June 28, 1923, in Old Hickory, TN, to the late William Fowler and Cynthia Buck Goolsby. He was married to the late Ruby Jewel Goolsby. He was a retired factory worker and a member of the Gainesboro First Baptist Church. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Daughter: Linda Goolsby; and 2 Brothers: Lloyd and Lemon Goolsby. Survivors include 3 Sons: James (Betty) Goolsby of Athens, AL, Edward Goolsby of Wisconsin, and Carl Steven (Dana) Goolsby of Athens, AL; 3 Daughters: Mary Anne Wheeler of Gainesboro, TN, Betty (Edward) Smith of Athens, AL, and Darlene Land & Brett Chambers of Nashville, TN; 3 Brothers: Omer Goolsby and Buddy Goolsby, both of Gainesboro, TN, and Aaron Goolsby of Sparta, TN; 5 Sisters: Ida Mai Carter and Jean Long, both of Gainesboro, TN, Estelene Nemore of Baxter, TN, Marie Steward of Centerline, MI, and Sue Bilbrey of Virginia; 8 Grandchildren and 9 Great-Grandchildren.
