Funeral services for Mr. James Edward Flatt, 52, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 3 P.M. on Sunday, August 26, 2007, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Sam Flatt Cemetery in the Philadelphia community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12 noon - 9 P.M., and on Sunday from 10 A.M. until time of services. Mr. Flatt passed away on Friday, August 24, 2007, at Bethesda Health Care Center in Cookeville, TN. He was born June 8, 1955, in Jackson County, Tennessee, to Kathlean Flatt and the late Bernice Flatt. He was a telephone lineman for Hamlet Construction, and a member of the Gainesboro First Baptist Church. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by 1 Infant Daughter: Heather Renea; 3 Brothers: Larry E. Flatt, Dale Flatt, and Tommy W. Flatt; and 1 Sister: Marie Flatt. Survivors include his mother: Kathlean Flatt of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Son: R. Heath Flatt of Cookeville, TN; 2 Brothers: Bruce Flatt of Gainesboro, TN, and Merlin Flatt of Mt. Juliet, TN; and 1 Sister: Carolyn West of Bloomington Springs, TN. Bro. Sam Mainord will officiate at the services. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
